I love Kariyazaki’s flower arrangements, but I can’t understand his blind worshipping of European taste. My favourite was probably the vase.

In a desperate attempt to create new things for the upcoming show (June 1 to 30!) I tried to make one-off paintings.
I had these stickers that turns into metallic looking material when you sand over.
Photograph of my sister’s face and different kinds of pen on a round panel.
Photograph of my face, old Japanese stamps (some might be worth a lot ha), pen, and watercolour.
To be completely honest, I think it’s a good concept, making collages with real materials as opposed to all the digital cut & paste that I always do. But I’m hating the results. Colours and spacings and everything seems so wrong. Perhaps I need to make more, get used to it and brush up my techniques.. but for now I don’t like them at all!
It’s 30 days till the show and 79 days till my dissertation deadline!
